Angela is a girl that has been part of my life ever since she was born. It is crazy to think that 18 years have passed and she is now about to graduate from high school. Angela and my sister have been pretty much inseparable since childhood and now they will both be moving to the same city, in the same apartment, undergoing the adventure that is adulthood (even though, at eight years their senior, I still don’t consider myself an adult). Angela is athletic, tall, easy going and absolutely gorgeous. After seeing the pictures I took of my sister and a fellow friend, she asked me if I could do hers as well. The session took place literally a couple of hours after they had finished high school, forever. The light was perfect and after going through the hell that is our local Wal-Mart, it was great to relieve some stress and taking some fantastic pictures. Usually I take a couple of days to finish editing pictures, but considering I have nothing else to do at home and because I was having so much fun doing it, I finished editing her pictures in a couple of hours.

It was hard to choose favorites out of ALL the pictures we took, but here are definitely some of mine:

I finally sat down and edited the pictures I took the night of the Cotillion. I didn’t take many to be honest, since I was focused on getting video that night, which if you haven’t seen you can do so HERE. Like I said before, she looked so beautiful that night, but I don’t really think I captured it to the best of my ability. I think I could have done more with the pictures. There was such a rush though, that we didn’t really have time to do the photos Cynthia and I can do so well. Anyway, click the link below to see the rest. Comments and feedback welcome.

Radiant Debutante

“Every parent wishes for their little girl to grow up and be smart, healthy and beautiful. I can tell you all right now, that your wishes have come true.”

The Debutante Cotillion is a big deal in this small town of ours. While it may not be as big or as fancy as those in big cities, it is a great honor to be one of the girls selected to come out as a debutante. It starts as soon as your freshman year of high school, when you are chosen as a junior hostess and ends your senior year. Everything seems special about the event, from the rehearsals, the preparation, the presentation and the waltz with their father and escorts.

The video below will give you a little glimpse on this years event. The video, of course, focuses on my sister, but you will see cameos from Angela, Anais (whose senior portraits I did), Karina (Briana’s sister). Evy, Briana, Dalina and Mike also come out. It was awesome to be there with them, since we ourselves were part of the Cotillion 8 years ago.

God, I am old.

My sister radiated beauty. But every girl there took my breath away. I will hopefully have time to edit all the pictures I took sometime this week or next. Patience is a virtuuuuueeeeee. Favorite part of the video? Two minutes and four seconds in. Also, you can see a video of the actual waltz here

312/365 Lake Tahoe Carthweel

After what seemed forever on the road we finally arrived in Tahoe. I looked around, turned to Niamh and managed to say..

“Is this Hell?”

Sorry I haven’t updated in such a long time. I will catch up on everything I promise. With the recent liver destroying trip that was Tahoe and the surprise visit to Arizona for my sister’s debutante ball there hasn’t really been much time to do any blog updates. Also, the cabin in Tahoe had DIAL UP internet. What kind of soul crushing bull&$(% is that?

Now that I am home in Arizona for a couple of days I will hopefully have lots of downtime to edit and catch up.

Also, my sister looked AMAZING on the night of her cotillion. She said that I made her day when I surprised her. Which, in turn, made my day. It was an incredible night shared with family and very good friends. Pictures of that will be up soon.

The New Home

Here is a picture of the new house my parents (and sister) recently moved into. I actually really like the new house, all except for the backyard which I am sure my parents will be remodeling pretty soon. Also, I love my bathroom because I can do a cartwheel in the shower since it is so big. Once they are done gutting the place, I think it will be a pretty awesome temporary new home.

I think it was built for giants. The doors are bigger than the gateways to heaven.
